What I'll watch for: Feb. 13 at Texas State

Three things I'll watch for during today's Lamar University men's basketball game against Texas State:

Intensity. Lamar hopes to avenge an overtime loss suffered earlier this season against Texas State. The Cardinals led by 11 points with less than 9 minutes left in regulation but failed to keep the lead in a 97-92 loss at the Montagne Center. Sophomore point guard Anthony Miles admitted last week that he still loses sleep over that loss.

Rebounding. Lamar let Texas State pull down 24 offensive rebounds in that overtime loss. That's the most offensive rebounds by a Lamar opponent this season. Both teams are among the best in the Southland Conference at rebounding, so the battle of the boards should be fierce. Look for the better rebounding team to win today's game.

Cameron Johnson vs. Justin Nabors. The 6-foot-7 forwards will do battle on both ends of the floor. Texas State's Johnson averages 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds against Southland teams and Lamar's Nabors averages 16.6 points and 10.4 rebounds against Southland teams. Should be a good physical matchup.
